Out of Many: Reframing an American Art Collection at the Phillips Collection is a celebration and examination of the beauty and complexity of of this nations’ history. Presenting artists well-known and understudied from the permanent collection as well as from Howard University and University of Maryland, Out of Many builds a dynamic story about how, from the early 20th century to the present, various artist have imagined and depicted the people, cultures, landscapers and histories of the United States. Georgia O’Keeffe, Milton Avery, Richard Diebornkorn, Grandma Moses, Ben Shaun, Wayne Thiebaud are just a few of the artists represented.
"I have seen the show twice and am anxious to go back to see it again," says trip coordinator Joyce Lowenstein.
The Village has reserved 20 tickets for Thursday, January 8th at 2:15. Tickets are free if you are a member. Otherwise tickets will be $10.
